I have a compactus from Space maker storage systems 1300 300 369 www.abax.com.au. This information is on the outside of the compactus and as it is about 10 years old, I have no idea if the company exists any more. I have had no trouble with it except when someone tries to open the sections really ha...

Re: Support structure
I am sorry that you had to suffer alone. :console: I feel that the Union thinks it would be supportive and unbiased but I think that if you don't go to them before the other party then they may take sides. Our delegate said no way but feel they might be swayed by status (teacher) over labbie and by ...

Re: Where to buy polystyrene?
Lucky you. One teacher decided to use styrofoam to "build" a structure and we are still finding bits and pieces (only 3 months later). It literally went with the wind and being static didn't help. The kids thought it was extremely funny and when chastised, replied "so what, that is wh...

Re: GHS Labeling
I don't earn enough to worry about this anymore. If the powers that be would give us a definitive directive then we could all get on with the job and until then I am NOT printing any labels. Also if they were serious about this, then they should provide ALL the templates that they want us to use. I ...

Re: Storing Chemicals in the prep room
All my chemicals stay in the locked storeroom until needed, even low molarity dropper bottles as students appear in the prep rooms without warning. I don't lock either prep room except at break time or the end of day as the teachers "forget" to order items and they are responsible for the ...

Re: Chem store
I was told that we should have some sort of signage but as yet nothing has come of that. On my chem storeroom there is a flammable liquid 3, danger hazardous chemicals, radioactive 7, non smoking and fire extinguisher signs. There are no signs on the outside of the buildings but the fire brigade hav...

Re: labeling old chemicals in store
I know that we don't take off the original label off the chemical container but can we take the label off droppers or label over the top of the old one? Sorry it seems a silly question but labels are difficult enough on the droppers without adding another one. Thanks for your patience in answering o...

Re: labeling old chemicals in store
Many thanks for clearing up the labelling problem. I am not really worried about it as I feel the responsibility still lies with the department. I am working my way through my list of chemicals but may as well whistle dixie if I want any help. You are aware that the office ladies (as nice as they ar...

Airconditioning labs
I know everyone is suffering from Mother Natures sick joke of continuing summer but our labs are like saunas and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how to convince the powers that be that we need to cool down the labs. I have actually held very long drawn out conversations in these hell hole...

Re: labeling old chemicals in store
How do we find out what is expected from us and when do we have to have the changes done by? I have not seen a single email or directive from the DEC or any relevant department . Just how are we supposed to do our every day tasks and try to fit in the new labelling and SDS into our day!!!!! I know h...

We had a full school assembly with the Last Post and speakers from the community. I don't know if the kids understand what it is all about but we need to continue OUR traditions and not lose our history, heritage and culture.
