I just printed one off with an issue date September 2020 and can't find anything about classes or pg on it. has methyl red magically turned non hazardous? T...

Re: RiskAssess chemical codes
I find risk assess to be great when it comes to time and date stamping......no more arguments over who ordered what first. I really like the set up for what experiment is booked when. I personally wouldn't want to go back to writing up all the orders in a book but I do keep copies of every order.Als...

Welcome back all labbies. Every time I get on this site, there is a wonderful teacher asking for something. Flammables cabinets
Hi to all labbies,
I am looking for a new flammables cabinet. Has anyone bought one recently and can help me out with information, cost, size (250 litres) availability and if they are any good and suit the purpose intended?
Many thanks.
Kerry

Re: School Uniforms
We have aprons and safety goggles. I manage to wash them about twice a year. That is 200 aprons that need to go through a washing machine (definitely NOT mine) and then hung over the back of chairs to dry and get folded by me. Certainly no budget for lab coats or the facility to store them.

Re: Dynamic trolleys
Hi fellow labbies. We purchased a ripple tank last year from Serrata $585 that makes our teachers happy and we also got some collision trolleys from Westlab that are terrific $117 for a pair.
Hope this helps

Re: Chem store vents
I think that NOT having the fume cupboards serviced might fail the OH&S test. I haven't had the extractor fans cleaned but the fume cupboards are done every 12 months. Must check with the technician next year about the fans.

I rinse all equipment and then run them through the dishwasher. I have plastic chopping boards that go through the dishwasher as well. I leave them to air dry.

Ammonium thiocyanate
Welcome back to the best site. Many thanks to Westlab for providing this link.
My question is : how do you make a .5m solution of Ammonium thiocyanate? I can't find a recipe in my books and am hoping that one of you wonderful labbies can enlighten me.
Thanks in advance

Light gates
Hello to all out there in labbie land.
I have been asked to source a light gate used to measure sound ( I think) in physics. I can't find anything like the teacher wanted and was wondering if it is called something else.
Thanks in advance

Re: Safety Shower testing
I have been here 6 years and never seen an inspector or heard if they came through. There are no drains in the floors under the shower, so think I would notice if someone had tested them. I would still be trying to clean up the mess!!! Because I don't have anything better to do.

Re: Dropper bottle teats
Find this is the case with most of the equipment I try to order from Serrata these days. I know I am not the only one ordering but I think that they could send an email to let us know what is going on with our orders. AND I love catalogues and hate trying to find things on line.
