Re: Animal blood and forensics

Luminol will also react to bleach, although there is a slight difference. (So the moral is: if you commit a murder, don't think that cleaning it up with bleach will get you off the hook).

Re: Tracking of dataloggers

Is it the students losing them, or the teachers? Maybe numbering each unit and providing a list with each prac to record which student or group of students (or teacher) took each data logger, then the teacher can mark off as they are returned. Sounds like a lot of work but they aren't cheap things.

Re: Broken Glassware

I have a separate bin with a bin liner. This gets put into an A4 paper box, taped up, marked broken glass and I take it to directly to the large bins. It does not go into the playground bins, the cleaners do not touch it at all. I wear safety glasses and a long pair of leather gloves when handling i...

Splints?

What does everyone usually use for splints? I've had some different answers when I ask around.

Re: Welcome back everyone.

I've sorted Ian out - I fortunately inherited an established science faculty. It was my predecessor who took on a new school.

And it's true, sometimes all we need is a sense of humour to get through.

Re: Welcome back everyone.

A big welcome back - after nearly a two year break I have returned to labby-land! Long story with the nursery jobs not going to plan and struggling to get any time off for holidays. Had a great Christmas break - got news of this job mid-December so we had a holiday to make up for the last two years ...

Casual Work?

Hi Everyone It's been a long time since I posted anything - I'd actually forgotten my password. For those of you who remember me, it has been 12 months since I left the World of Labbies to go back to the nursery industry. Things haven't gone quite to plan (if you really want to know the full story P...
