we only buy and use the LR stuff, couldn't afford to pay for the dear stuff.

Shelly, our canteen lady saves for me plastic containers that some sort of yoghurt bar comes out of - very good - clear plastic , about small ice cream container size. Also the Home Ec teacher saves me the margarine containers - very handy as well.

I have had to do the chemical register for our school, MSDS's included, for all departments and yes the Agriculture Dept does have to lock up their chemicals, drenches and all the other goodies, weed sprays etc etc - the works. Before working here at school I worked in a Specialist Medical Centre and we had a big fish tank in the waiting room. We used to get so many comments on how relaxing it was to watch the fish swim about - lot of cancer, heart problems amongst the usual ailments, but somehow the tank was very soothing...

I use the USB trick too. It lives in my bag, so if anything happens at school I have a copy.

WOW what a beautiful school, everything so neat and tidy. What great science rooms, puts ours to shame big time.

We had a spill a few years ago, not here but the local primary school. A mercury thermometer was dropped and broken, the whole school was evacuated, the highway closed, the nearby houses evacuated and the hazmat team from Goulburn called in to clean up the spill. Pretty dramatic for a little country...

I have a phone in my office which is also my Prep Room, works really well.

Hi Sharls, I cook mine in a pressure cooker for 15 minutes (15 minutes of boiling), wrap in newspaper and put in the rubbish.

I claim a diary each year and also travel to and from the shops, I do shopping for Home Science and Science. I did travel to Wagga last year for a Chem course and was able to claim that. I did try to claim some clothes but they did not qualifiy as we don't have an official uniform.

Hope everyone has a great break. Wal and I are off to Port Macquaire for our annual holiday. We are so looking forward to it.

Count me in to a seminar in Wagga, only one and a half hours away, that would be absolutely wonderful. I would like to go to the big one in Sydney that they have each year but I won't drive in Sydney so can't get there. Wagga would be great.
