Me too please. I didn't know the sulfuric acid/sugar exp. was banned. Lots of teachers still do that exp.

Could anyone please tell me if it is better to microwave bulls eyes before dissection and if so for how long?

We have 1,180 students and 6 labs here. I'm the only lab tech, I work a 6.25hr day, 5 days a week with all school hols off.

I put a mini MSDS out with any dangerous or hazardous chemicals but have been told by the departments "Curriculum Adviser- Science" that RA's are only needed if you are working outside the CSIS guidelines.

Hi,
Could anyone help me with instructions on how to make Eriochrome Black T which is used as an indicator in water hardness determinations. The experiment asks for 2 or 3 drops and the only info I can find is add 0.5g indicator to 100g NaCl powder and use 0.2g.

One of our teachers does that "trick". He just uses a squirt or two of morning fresh(apparently the best for bubbles). He uses a glass pasteur pipette on the end of a rubber tube attached to the gas tap to bubble the gas through the water and lights the bubble with a taper. He also uses th...

Artificial Ore

Could anyone out there help me with a recipie for artificial ore using sand, copper sulfate, marble chips all in plaster. I had a go at making it up last year but was told that it didn't work very well. Maybe guessing amounts dosen't work after all.
