Re: Eyes for dissection
Could anyone please tell me if it is better to microwave bulls eyes before dissection and if so for how long?
OR if you have any other tips for a successful dissection they would be much appreciated.
Thanks Tracey

Hi Rosalie,
I have a copy of the brochure that Q Stores was handing out at the St Mary's conference. If you think this will help let me know your Fax number and I'll send you a copy.

Re: risk assessment
I put a mini MSDS out with any dangerous or hazardous chemicals but have been told by the departments "Curriculum Adviser- Science" that RA's are only needed if you are working outside the CSIS guidelines.

We use tonic water here too. It's easy, cheap and seems to work well.

Re: Holidays
Hi Judy,
I don't work any holidays. I would like to come in for a couple of days just to sort things that I don't get to do during term but only if I could have days in lieu.... Maybe next holidays!!!

Hi Lada,
I would love a copy of your prac. The sintered glass one never quite works the way it should for us, yours sounds much easier. My fax number is (02)9808 2642.

Eriochrome Black T
Hi,
Could anyone help me with instructions on how to make Eriochrome Black T which is used as an indicator in water hardness determinations. The experiment asks for 2 or 3 drops and the only info I can find is add 0.5g indicator to 100g NaCl powder and use 0.2g.
Thanks Tracey

Re: soapy bubbles explosion
One of our teachers does that "trick". He just uses a squirt or two of morning fresh(apparently the best for bubbles). He uses a glass pasteur pipette on the end of a rubber tube attached to the gas tap to bubble the gas through the water and lights the bubble with a taper. He also uses th...

Artificial Ore
Could anyone out there help me with a recipie for artificial ore using sand, copper sulfate, marble chips all in plaster. I had a go at making it up last year but was told that it didn't work very well. Maybe guessing amounts dosen't work after all.
Thanks Tracey
