Re: yr11 starch dialysis - why didnt it work?
Hi all Chemtalkers
We did this prac. a few weeks ago and it worked very well. I always use potato starch!!
It would probably be best to make all the solutions fresh, that is, if you are given enough notice!!!
Good Luck

Re: Hot wax experiments
Oh darm!!! I was hoping that it would be dangerous,so I could ban it from being used!!!
It makes such a mess, and I have better things to do than clean up hardened wax on benches and floors.
Thanks for your input

Hot wax experiments
Hi all
Could someone please tell me if using melted wax for pracs is allowed.Year 11 chem.kids just did a prac. using melted wax and I was very afraid for them as one had a mishap with the hot wax through his own stupidity. The teacher was not too concerned.
Cheers

Re: pH madness
Hi ya all I also have an IEC water still and the water PH has always been about 6PH.I have tried every thing that I thought may make a difference. However I have had no success. My head teacher says a PH of 6 won't make much of a difference when making solutions. Because of the vast amount of water t...

Hi Sue
Was there any mention of the age of radioactivity sources,as I have some in a metal box that has to be at least 20 years old. Does it lose its strength of radioactivity over time ??????
