Yeah understand that the purpose is for each teacher to do a risk assessment but as with a lot of pracs the little hints and adjustments to pracs that have already been done by a teacher of 30yrs experience verses 1st year out can be light years apart. Thanks for the feedback. As we only have a trial for 2 weeks was wondering in the full edition do you have access to all other schools practical assesments? So if you are using Pearsons as we do, can I type in Pearsons as a search in Yr 8 and recieve a list of all practicals already done by other sc...

Chemical Trays

Same problem here with Silver Nitrate stains. We now use the black meat trays that butchers use for displaying meat. Students use them to carry any chemicals on and then do their experiment on the tray. Easy to clean up after by the students and stops any spillage of chemicals spreading onto the ben...

Hi, here in sleepy hollow (Adelaide) we have a State crystal growing competition each year. The best way to grow them is in the incubator at around 30 degrees. A good Alum crystal is tetrahedral in shape and Crystal Clear. And yes, our kids won First Prize.

Been doing it for years. A couple of tricks is to blow the balloon up first to streach it and I alway use zinc and 50/50 HCl which is a mixture of half Dil HCl (2M) and half Conc HCl.
