Have you got new wire mats? We have, and they stink at first heating. Could this be the cause?

I've googled Science images, cut and pasted into Publisher so that they take up roughly half an A3 page (landscape) usually 4 images per page, got them printed, cut in half and laminated. Makes a nice border. My improvement would be to print onto light card to eliminate the glare from the laminating...

These are the ones from Westlab. You are supposed to scoop ups few drops and then take your reading. You need to be GENTLE!!!

The pH meters are easy enough to use. but the actual sensor can be broken fairly easily. Cleaning is a problem in that if you aren't careful the sensor can be damaged. Use it as a demo??

A simple one is citric acid and bicarb. Form a slurry of one and mix in the other! The more the merrier, but it works in small quantities.

At the end of last year I heard the Catholic sector was spraying all the boxes with a dilute solution of PVA glue and disposing of the most likely rock samples. Not sure if it caught on!

If you Google something like "CD hovercraft" you should get the instructions and videos. Basically you glue the bottle cap to the centre of the CD (this allows you to control the flow rate), put a blown up balloon over the top, then let it go!

Have you tried using liquid soap or glycerine as a lubricant? Use a LARGE rag or towel to hold the tubing. It is hard to recommend tube sizes - it depends on what you are connecting at both ends e.g. side arm test tubes vary in the size of the arm.

There are digital versions of ammeters and voltmeters. Only used the ammeters and they seem fine. Might need to buy up on batteries!

We have one of these - bulb connected to a long tube with a pressure release valve and a pressure gauge at the top. The gauge goes from -100kPa to +300kPa. Has anyone ant idea of where I would get a replacement gauge? Serrata doesn't!
