Re: Off to Uni Again
Hi All, Rather not how fast the universe is but how fast is it expanding, My question is this.. If the universe is expanding then E=Mc2 cannot be true.. Answer, Yes it is although we have to look at this as being relative to the space and time of which the universe is currently at. Basic Laws of The...

Hi All, Used Americium 241 that is passed its halflife will begin to have will have counts less than 100 Bq's. This being an alpha partical releaser, this should not be a problem. Physics or main stream science will use these isotopes anyway, so keep hold onto them. Uranyl Acetate on the other hand ...

Hi All,
A good thing to do (particularly with Copper Sulfate) and that is to filter the used Copper Sulfate and label this "for Crystalisation Only" for this type of Prac there is no need for purity and this can be used again and again.
Cheers,

Re: Off to Uni Again
Hi All, Good question, I have two answers to this a relative answer and a more philosophical answer, both of which you will find either funny or mind blowing.. 1. How long is a piece of string... double the length from one side to the middle. 2. My answer to the other question is this.... A piece of...

Hi All, Just keep in mind that all Ion Selcetive Electrodes, (Oxygen Fluoride etc will always be very sensitive). Ion Selective Electrodes (ISE's for short) require permiation of agressive ions wich send current throught the probe to the detector eg Data logger or other interface. All ISE's will be ...

Re: How to class chemicals
Hi All, Most people have hit the nail on the head, (It is great to see) the storage of Chemicals can be a huge thing for some people. Re: Phosphorus Red L.R
Hi All, Red Phosphorus is hydroscopic as will absorb any mosisture it can get its hands on. It will pull a fair bit out of the air when you release the lid to atmospheric conditions. It will never be dry but this also protects it from becoming too dry and possibly Spontaneously Combusting. Cheers, R...

Hi Richard,
Its good to see the water rocket was a success, to refine it and tweek it to your specs is the pinacle of rocketry. You need to come over and see the solid fuel rockets here though...
