Good Morning All
A question for those of you who use RiskAssess.
Do you know if the hand generator, also known as dynamo can be written into the equipment section? Does it have another name?
Thanks in advance

Re: Osmosis and diffusion
Hi All
We did the iodine and starch solution for this prac without measuring side of things. The teacher also asked for sucrose and glucose both 1M. Has anyone used these as well for diffusion prac? Seems a strong concentration....1M sucrose is 34.23%.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: Bromine water
Bromine comes in a plastic bottle named Bromine liquid 1ml. Does anyone use this and if you do what needs to be done in readiness for class?
Any help appreciated.
Many thanks in advance

If the sources are stored correctly in the lead.... where do you store the lead storage case? Does it need to be kept in a special area?
Thanks

Potassium Permanganate crystals
Hi All We used the potassium permanganate crystals with straws/forceps for observing convection currents. In recent times the new containers of potassium permanganate (Chem Supply) contain very fine crystals and it is impossible to pick them up like we used too. Does anyone know where I could find c...

Hi All,
A prac order asks for starch solution (fairly dilute). Can anyone help me with how 'fairly dilute' is 'fairly dilute in reducing sugars prac'? 0.5%? more? less?
Thanks in advance,
Rita

Re: elephant's toothpaste revisited
A recipe I have is 100mls hydrogen Peroxide and 20-25mls 2M sodium Iodide. I was wondering if 2M potassium Iodide could be substituted. By what is written above I assume it wouldn't matter the concentration used.

Hi All
Phillip Crisp mentioned at a training day, a "P2" kitty litter should be used instead of just any old kitty litter. Can anyone tell me the name of a brand and/or which shops stock it please?
Thanks in advance

Hi All
Has anyone noticed the price of minigrids lately? They seem to have jumped quite a bit. We had a student break three and need to replace them.

Ten litres minimum purchase about $110.00 incl. GST now. Your price sounds better than ours. Where was your quote from?
We use ten litres...... senior physics pracs and leftovers go to junior classes demonstrations.
