I have just bought the 75mm Alnico magnets from Science Supply, as recommended by another lab tech. They are fabulous. I was so over the useless magnets we had for our junior classes. From SSA they are $20 a pair.

Mercurochrome has trace amounts of mercury so that would be why it is not as popular as it once was. It is no longer available in the U.S for that reason. Kind of makes you think twice about it, but who knows, you can still buy it. I don't know about using it in schools though, not such a good idea.

Our Biology teacher has just shown me the "Biozone" workbooks for Year 11 and 12 Biology. She is wondering how many schools out there use them and how they use them. They look like a great book, a cross between a text and a workbook. What text do people use with it etc? Any help would be g...
