Re: Welcome back everyone to chemtalk

Was stumped when I couldn't find the site. Not sure what happened but getting the idea all was lost and saved by Westlab. Over the moon when I tried my link this morning and it worked. Loads of thanks Westlab :)

Re: SDS

Thanks melsid and Merilyn,

I have printed one for every chemical in the past so I will continue to do that. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't making work for myself.

Thank you everyone for your help. I finally feel like I am swimming again. The change over is a bigger job than I thought.

Re: SDS

Hi, I have another 2 questions about printing an SDS. Do we only need to print an SDS for a chemical if the signal word is dangerous or warning, or do we need to print one for all chemicals. Also, I am finding some of my suppliers only have a 2 page mini SDS. What would you do in this case? Print ou...

Re: SDS

Sorry, another question.

Can I print the SDS back to back or do I need to print as it is set up. I was told last time I printed them I couldn't print them back to back and was wondering if this is correct,

thanks Kim.

SDS

Hi everyone, I hope you are all finding the new GHS painless and getting it sorted. It is once again time for me to print out new SDS for our school, which is 8 folders worth as our Science department is spread across three school blocks and one main chemical store. This will also keep me in line wi...

Re: GHS Labelling and frustrations with Chemwatch

I'm also finding this program a little frustrating. Does anyone else have the problem of the next label overlapping the first label, covering the last lines of information? I have two labels here in front of me that I printed off, Sodium Phosphate, dibasic and Potassium iodide, and the second label ...

Re: agar 750 or agar 1000

Hi all, I am just about to put in a chemical order and I was wanting to purchase the agar 1000 gel as it is cheaper than agar from other companies. Does anyone know whether the problem with the 1000 gel has been sorted. Is anyone using the product bought recently? I was wanting to purchase it from L...

Re: Any benefits to making a Manifest in Chemwatch

Hi all again,

I have decided with your help not to go to the trouble of adding our stock into a Chemwatch manifest. Very happy, it will save lots of work. I will also start using the GHS labels.

Big thank you to everyone who answered me,

regards, Kim.

Any benefits to making a Manifest in Chemwatch

Hi All, I have been using Chemwatch for 9 years and we have just been given access to the new Chemwatch gold FFX. I have been doing my register in an Excel spread sheet as this was the system in place when I first started my job. My question is if there is any benefit of adding our Chemicals to a ma...

Re: GHS Labelling and frustrations with Chemwatch

Hi Superbug, I spoke to Chemwatch and they told me public schools are still to use the Chemgold III. I should have told you I am working in a public school. It seems as though online help is no longer available in this version though. Not sure if they will update us to gold ffx in the future,

Kim.

Re: GHS Labelling and frustrations with Chemwatch

Hi, could someone please help me? Should I be using Chemwatch gold ffx as I am still using Chemgold 3 but I don't seem to be able to login to the ffx site using the same username and password? Maybe I have the wrong site. Any help would be very much appreciated. I am finding the change over very fru...

Re: Chemffx Labels

Thanks Labbie and Ocker, this helps a lot.

David, CSIS stands for Chemical Safety In Schools and is a reference documents put out by the NSW department of education and training. These are the guide lines we must follow when working with chemicals in schools.

Updating MSDS

Hello to everyone, I have been a member for a while but this is my first post. I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am just updating our MSDS sheets which is a job well over due. When down loading many new data sheets, I find they have been now reclassified, as now being dangerous or high hazard...
