hardness of Platinum?

Anyone know the hardness of Gold, silver and Platinum? Yr 11 Physics need to know the hardness of Platinum, and it seems its not in the SI data book

Hi Rainbow-Sky,

In Relation to your question I have listed the following:

Obviously in the Mohs Scale of Hardness!!

Gold: 2.5 - 3

Silver: 2.5 -4

Platinum: 4.3

These are the exact values.

Something I was looking at during my studies at Uni.

Thank You Maree & Robb :-) These were exactly what I needed. I have dug out the little piece of platinum that we have, and all the info for the next lesson
