1011064A - Mechanics Set Capstan Block. Part of Mechanics kit (NSW Department of Education design). Mounts to a retort stand rod. Is used to support mechanics apparatus.

what is it used for, never heard of this before?

We used them for the topic in year 9? Simple machines. They attach to retort stands and you use then for levers.

CAPSTAN BLOCK,

for mechanical experiments. With 6.5, 9.5 and 12.5mm holes adopting various rods and equipment. Made of Brass with three brass screws

We have a new way to do it without the blocks
The rulers have a big hole and it fits in the clamp using the end of the clamp works a treat.
