Hi everyone!
Back again after some serious study.... hope everyone is well & HAPPY at work without too many anguishes / frustrations! Wouldn't it be nice....!
Anyway I need 25ml of 1% iron (III) chloride & I am really bad at these calculations - does anyone have the time & inclination to walk me through it? Or point out a cheat...!
Cheers Kel
Prac help.....
Re: Prac help.....
Dear Kel - a 1% solution is a gram of solute (iron 111 chloride) in 100ml of solution. (I would just do the 100ml and not worry about adjusting for 25ml. - but of course you could divided the 1g and the 100ml both be 4, therefore .25g in 25ml) So it goes for other percentages e.g. 10% - 10grams in 100ml. 20% - 20grams in 100ml and so on - You can adjust for larger amount e.g. 1L 10% = 10g x 10 = 100g in 1 litre. Hope that helps. Judy.
