SLIT PLATES for RAYBOXES

Post by coxy »

While I was recently on LSL my replacement, my wonderful casual Lab Asst, got together with a teacher here and MADE some slit plates. Since she wasn't sure if I had any in storage, and didn't want to order them, she MADE some.
METHOD:
Get some black cardboard, or black A4 paper.
Laminate the paper/cardboard.
Cut out slit plates to size, with extremely sharp, fine scissors.

You are able to make any number of a particular type. Even if they only last a term or two, what a great idea. It only took her about an hour or so to make more than 20 of one type.
Good luck if you want to try.

Have also seen it done with black styrofoam, or black plastic.

I use the black plastic from the bottom of the recyclable fabric shopping bags when they split & are no good in the bags anymore...
