Can anybody please tell how to calculate molar concentration of hydrogen peroxide from % concentration? for example if we have 6% hydrogen peroxide what is the molar concentration of the same? Thanks- NEHAL

this might be over simplified but this is how my brain works around this.

6% = 6g in 100ml
that means 60g in 1000ml (1L)

known amount / MW = M

so 60g / 34 = 1.7 M

i think that is right - i am sure soem one will correct me if i am wrong :)

Hi Nehal,
I agree with Annette's calculations for 100 vol peroxide. I have attached a table I made some time ago when we were supplied 120 vol or 100 vol, depending on what the supplier sent. Hope this helps.

this is fantastic concentration calculator it is free to use (limited to few chemicals), select % and it will calculate molarities =D>

The concentration of Hydrogen peroxide can only be determined by its reaction rate as it is unstable and wants to revert to water, therefore I always store in the fridge

Does anyone have a copy of Franco's table above? I can't open it for some reason... (it's possibly too old a version?)

This is the best thing I've seen for ages. Thank you. I now have a copy with the H2O2 and in the recipe book.
