Will we become private?????

Hello everyone,
Was having a little chat yesterday with my GA and he was telling me that there is something going on in the DEPT OF ED, about that they are talking about privatising the GA position in NSW schools.
He has the opinion that if it goes ahead with the GA position then it is only a matter of time then they will do it with the SASS staff.
What do you all think? Good or Bad? Benefits or no benefits?

Does that mean that we will get paid more or will we not get holidays like the teachers Will our hours change
Will the PSA alow it I don't think so
Maybe it is just a bit of gossip and it will not happen

Lookiing on the PSA site, yes they are looking into GA going private. You could be right, perhaps we are next. Could be worth looking into that.

I can't imagine it happening in the near future but I think it could definitely happen one day. Probably the govts way of cutting costs. It will be interesting to see what happens in the case of GA's. Maybe they will get an increase in pay, but at the expense of conditions. No doubt there will be trade offs. Look what happened to the cleaners at govt schools. Their numbers reduced enormously but for the better?

It will never happen as then they would have to pay us according to our Knowledge/Qualifications and put us on a real wage
