Just wanted some feedback as to what anyone has found the best "material" for using in this option eg. "iron" nails, stainless steel, other alloys etc; It's been suggested that metal washers and rivets may be useful? Any ideas?

I went to Bunnings and bought a variety of washers.
Brass ,S/Steel,galvonised etc.
I looked at other shops but they didnt have much. Also specialised plumbing shops

Hi Sandra

I went to the local hardware store and bought various screws, nails, washers and bathroom fittings (chrome). They are cheap, easy and already small enough for students to use.

My teachers are happy with it so that makes me happy too

Serrata sells small metal rods in stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper etc.. We used these together with nails of a similar size.

Hope this is of some help
