For those of you that still have it .
It is precious.
I have cried when I have seen other Labbies send it back for Chemical collection or turn it into solution . Remember , we are still allowed up to 2kg of the stuff ...although it is recommended to turn into solution , it's not mandatory.
We still have teachers that will only use it for endothermic reaction ( yeah I know , there are many other options) .
Finally the word has sunk in that there is not an endless supply .
So I send it out with a Beaker for waste recycling . I encourage only distilled water be added to it but sometimes they miss the point and tap water is used .
Anyway , it comes back cold and cloudy . I filter it , pour into a few large evaporating basins and put in incubator at around 50-60 degC .
a few days later, its crystallised . Scrape it out , crunch it up a bit and its good to go next round .

Next lot dried out an ready for scrapping out of the Basins .
