One of the teachers here would like to know if there is any expt for simulating Fireworks. We do the flame test but she would like a wow expt. 8O

Glycerol and Potassium Permanganate, perhaps? Or drive to Canberra and buy some!

The "thermite" reaction, described in the CSIS Vol.2, Appendix F (under Aluminium) is a good one. Needs a site specific risk assessment, and don't do it outdoors if there is any chance of rain.
