stereomicroscope illuminators

Post by ri »

Hi All,
we have some stereomicroscopes that were bought without lamps. Is there an acceptable stand-alone lamp out there?
ie tall enough and with a strong light?

Yes. They are called microscope lamps and most scientific suppliers will have them. About $30 each.

We use bedlamps instead as we've found the microscope lamps aren't really bright enough. Useful for quite a few things as well, like comparing temperature increases of black and white cans when it's a cloudy day.
