Anyone seen the risk assess comments for Masking tape?
Potential hazards.
Do not tape over mouth or nose, or use as a restraint.
Wondered why I had numerous requests for masking tape.

Marine teacher has requested 3 new filters for the tanks in his room because they have all stopped working.
I just checked them, I thought the sponge filters were brown, turns out after I gave them a good clean that they are actually blue filters. Plus found a dead fish stuck behind one filter, judging by the smell and the state of it, I'd say its been dead for quite a while.
Funny! Now the filters are all in working order.

What a classic!!
New female teacher here, came marching up to my desk and asked,
"Do I have balls?"
I replied "I'd like to think not, but then again round here you are probably going to need them"
I laughed for ages at the way she said it.
(We are doing pracs using rulers, tennis balls, ping pong balls etc.)

Sitting at my desk putting the whole school chemical stocktake on to the computer. Sense a movement about 1 metre away on the floor. It's just a red bellied black snake about 60mm long, making it's way from under the compactus to the classroom door. Luckily I had a butterfly net nearby (don't ask) and could catch it before it got into the classroom. I rang the snake people but they couldn't come til after 5pm so the snake and I and our SAM took it for a drive for 12 kilometres and let it go. Just another dull day in Science.

The snake was 60cm long, not mm. Obviously I was more shaken than I thought.

Re: What the ....!!!!????????
At the end of last year I walked into my chem storeroom and lo and behold found a baby brown snake curled up on the floor. Fortunately it was cool enough in there that the snake was sluggish enough to wait quietly for the GA to come and relocate it. Somehow it had managed to slither under the prep room door then slither under the chem store door. All I could think was that if there was a baby snake there would have to be a mummy or daddy around nearby. Spent the next few days nervously looking around everywhere
