ester 'recipies'

Post by Ocean Breeze »

Can anyone give me a web link to a good, comprehensive list/table of esters. The longer the list, the merrier
What I need is A + B -> C (& what it smells like )

I had a list on file on my comp, but its taken a long walk.
Or if anyone wants to email me their attacment file to
barbara.rae@hunterchristian.nsw.edu.au

Thanks :coffee:

Esterification

Post by Robb »

Hi Rainbow-sky,

I will send you a private message with the list of esters and their fragrances.

For your information, I will list the Alkanol and Carboxylic Names as well, just to keep you on track.

I will try to do this for you ASAP but I am "flat-out" at the moment. Given the chance I will get right on it.

Cheers,

Robb...

Robb,

Would also love to see your list. Was looking through ours recently, and thought it could be longer.

Is this the sort of thing that could be posted onto the new wiki set-up, so that we can all access it whenever we need to?

Regards,

Liz

Hi Guys,

The school lab techs website in WA (http://www.labnetwest.asn.au) has the usual esters listed under "Technical Tips" including an alternative experiment using JellyBelly jellybeans, which we have tried here. The jellybeans are also useful in taste test experiments.

Cheers, Kristin 8-)
