thanks to the great St Mary's Conference 2009 team

Post by kimmy »

Just want to say thanks to another great year.
:clap3: =D> \:D/
thank you all for a wonderful conference.

Teachers that I have spoken to this morning say it is great for us to go to these thing and that there should be more of them.

It is not only in the classroom during the course that we learn so much 8O but also during the morning teas and whilst having lunch. Thanks all for sharing so much with all of us.

See you all in 2010.
Hope you all had a safe trip home.

Hey, I'm glad your teachers are all so positive. I arrived back at school this morning to find a tray of dissected kidneys sitting on the bench! It has been a very warm weekend here in SW Sydney! You can imagine the stench! I don't think my teachers are EVER going to let me have a day off again!!

My only consolation is that my prep room has a "Servery" into the Science Staff room, so all the teachers get to share the smell.

Cheers
Ian

:yuck: That really slack Ian, did they tell you they were going to do the disection beforehand? Mine are well trained, they did a bull eye disection last period Friday, I leave lots of newspaper to cover the benches, instructions to the cleaners to empty the bins and most importantly a bucket, chux and bottle of disinfectant to clean up with. I also get them to place all the instruments in a container to soak in disinfectant :wink2: Just the sweet smell of pine o clean this morning! MariaC

This was my second conference and again it was fantastic. The ladies that organise this should be commended as a lot of hard work was put into it. Not only I learnt a few things but it's also great to speak to other labbies in person. Hope to see everyone again next year.

:clap3: My thanks too, to the organising team both green and red, a wonderful job. Good to meet you Rosalie. Thanks too to Lizzie and friends from Canberra and Tamworth. I felt welcomed and not alone and everyone was so friendly. It was a great couple of days, I would recomend it to everyone, for great venue, great workshops, trade stalls to drool over new equipment, friendly people and yummy food and chance to talk to lots of people who talk the same language and gather hints to take back to school.
Thanks to everyone, it was well worth the effort to come.

Can any one share the experiment that Peter Leverett did with Merucry Chloride he was from UWS. Went from orange to Coke, colour change. It was good, think it was done on Friday. I have tried the web site of UWS, but can not seem to find it.

Hi Labbie
The ingredients for that chem experiment from UWS - he said it would be on the website but probably not for another week or two. He had to put it on there still and it may take him a while.
Cheers
