Fortin barometers

: I was hoping someeone might be able to help me? We have aquired a Fortin mercury type barometer and it needs to be filled with mercury. I have had 2 attempts but failed to get the mercury in the chamber. I was given scant instructions to begin with and need further information? Has anyone had experience with them? Brockway

Thanks Jazz , that was helpful but it assumed the mercury was in the barometer. I was hoping someone may have filled one of these barometers. But thanks for your help. Brockway
