Open Day Ideas

My coordinator has asked me for ideas for our open day next year. She has asked me for ideas as I'm the one getting the equipment ready and will be doing most of the cleaning up, so I'm happy I got included in the decision making.

Does anyone have some ideas? The people coming through won't have a lot of time, so we're looking for things that are quick to do, even if there has to be a bit preparation beforehand. Something that isn't too messy and has a low risk level would be good - often there are younger siblings with the group. Even some static demos would be good.

The steady hand set-up is always popular. That's what I call it anyway. Copper wire attached to a base both ends and winding around in a curve, a circle of wire attached to alligator clip and create a circuit with either a buzzer or a globe. They try to get along the wire without touching it and making light or noise. All ages can do this. I usually set up 3 or 4 with different degrees of difficulty.
