energy production in respiration

energy production in respiration

Our energy production in respiration prac for yr 8 doesn't work. We use 2 vacuum flasks with germinating pea seeds in one and boiled seeds in the other with a thermometer in both. We don't get any temp difference. I soak the peas in water over night.
Is there a better prac or is there something I can do to this one to make it work/
