Acidified potassium permanganate

Post by lita* »

Hi does anyone have a recipe for acidified potassium permanganate? I got a recipe off the WA lab technicians
site but it seemed too strong, the recipe said you should still be able to see through the solution, I only wanted a small amount and reduced all the quantities and then added heaps of extra water but it was still way too strong. I wont need this until next year, but I would like a recipe before then as I expect my brain will have turned to moosh by then.

Hi, please do a search for the post subject
Preparation of Potassium Permanganate Solution.

This was done back in 2007, some very good information in that post.
