Textbooks

We have a heap of old syllabus textbooks which my HOD does not want to keep. Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Senior Science. Seems such a shame just to dump them. If anyone is interested could you let me know or if you have any suggestions of charities which may be interested.
Thanks
Kathryn :-)

We're in the same boat - a lot of Heinneman text books and others. I hate to throw anything away, there is always someone whose needs are greater than mine.

Your local Rotary Club may collect to send overseas, or know of a charity that does.

A lot of the time the charities won't take them as the freight costs are too high. Seems a waste, I know. If you have to dump them, at least remove the plastic cover and put the rest into recycling.

Same here. We have hundreds of Science and Maths texts to dispose of.
The only group I've found in SA, who collect books to send to less fortunate overseas countries, don't want text books!
I hate to throw away such a resource, but I can't keep storing them here.
If anyone finds a group (especially in SA, where I can deliver them to avaid freight charges), please let me know.

Has anyone had any experience with Sustainable School Shop?
