Chemwatch for NSW govt schools

Post by dime »

I have managed to log on to Chemgold 3, but when trying to do a search for MSDS or labels, it just spins and get no reults. Is anyone else (particularly in Govt schools) having this problem? Is there any advice to what is happening with chemwatch? I've no idea what we are supposed to do in the meantime. Thank heaven I don't use it much, but of course still need it to be there when you do.
Cheers :?

I had the same issue yesterday, but we are still with the old chemwatch. I also work in the private system so will see if I can obtain labels or MSDS's today!

I would not stress much, ChemWatch is in transition to GHS labeling. Labels are changing (ones O printed couple months ago are different than ones I printed yesterday). If you work in public school and need labels I can send you ones I have (GHSish) from Chemwatch. You have to change them again very soon though.

The FFX seems all good for now at least! I was able to print off the labels I needed yesterday, when all I could get was the spining molecule of death!! :cheesy:

I cant see any difference except that they have added more label templates. most are irrelevant to us eg non ghs labels, Malaysian labels etc. I have requested that the label templates that we have made up ourselves go to the top as before, saves us having to search through the drop down list to find them all. Should change in a couple of days again.

After my experience yesterday with their on-line help, I think in future I will think of it as "on-line help to get you really frustrated and angry". :banghead:

Hi Jazz,
I thought I would have a quick look on chemwatch and I could not find the second "danger" magnesium sulfate label you had put here. All the ones I saw were blank (like your first one). As it was considered non hazardous as well as in Csis handbook.
Can you please let me know where and or how you found this label, im curious.
which one of the two was recent?

Thanks Superbug

Jazz,
I didnt think magnesium sulfate was a dangerous good as stated in the second label. It is defiantly non hazardous (CSIS).

Now I am just confused, lol.

When I tried to log on to CG3 today I got a message saying the user name I use has expired.
Is anyone else getting this?
Does the DEC have a new contract with Chemwatch?

Hi Whspa

I'm from a NSW DEC school, I have just tried to log in and got "access has expired". I've not seen this before, I only logged in last Friday.
