Scalpel handles and blades

Post by Prima »

I have a large stock of No. 22 surgical blades which I have been putting onto Swann-Morton plastic and steel handles. The plastic handles don't last all that long and I could also do with some more steel ones, which are also safer. I have not managed to find where to buy them though.

The ones I am looking for have a solid clip to slide the blade onto and hold it firmly in place - it is of uniform width and is apparently a No. 4 handle.

However, when I have ordered No.4 handles, the clip is thick at one end and thin at the other, which means the blade just falls off. Does anyone understand what I am trying to say??? Can anyone help me find the handles I am looking for? We don't want to buy the disposable ones, they are so much more expensive and I still have so many of the No. 22 blades.
Thanks everyone!

Thanks, Rae, I'll give them a call, the handle looks like it is the right one!
