Hey guys,

Can I please have some details? I've decided if I never ask, I won't give the HNIC the chance to say YES! Also, if they don't let me go to the St Mary's conference, then I can try for the Toowoomba Science Forum, as a compromise :wink2:

Hi Noona,
Thanks for that - I will be grateful to learn anything. Plus hanging out with a bunch of white coats should be just as cool. Although I do believe Liz's coat is orange and mine is tie dyed blue! :D

I have Liz taking care of me with room buddies and transport and I even mentioned to my SAM that I didn't have to be relieved for my Science day just the office day and she was very smiley indeed.

Now I just need the folks at home to be just as happy and well organised and I might just pull this one off!
So what is the story with the coffee mugs? Is that a showbag style treat for attendees? I don't drink coffee - Can I request a bourbon tumbler? :cheesy:

Cheers,
Patti

I can't come! :cry2:

I was so looking forward to getting there & meeting a whole stack of you.... but my brother in law is getting married to one of my best friends on the Saturday after & I've just been told I'm in the wedding.... They're having stuff on the days before.... Sigh... I had to choose... & thought I might be excommunicated from the family if I don't behave!

Anyway hoping for next year! :wink2:

Yeah, don't people know not to schedule weddings that weekend? I can't go because I have to be at a wedding in Coffs Harbour at 10:30 Saturday morning. I'm not in the wedding party but my boyfriend is the best man so I can't be expecting him to run around picking me up from the airport at 7:30am! I am sure those of you who are going will all have a great time. I went in 2007 and learnt so much. I am still using booklets I collected there to remind me of various tasks that I don't perform very often. I even used some skills the very next work day! I would have had to ask a teacher how to do it but because the task had been covered in a session I'd chosen I was able to do it on my own, no questions asked! I am sure it takes a lot of work to organise such a conference. It could probably almost be a full time job on its own! Thanks to all the organisers, and participants, too! Otherwise they wouldn't do it again next year :)

Must be wedding season! My nephew gets married in Q'ld that weekend, and the logistics just got too complicated. And I had every intention of coming this year - it just sounds so good. Oh well, next year.....

vlclabbie,
There is probably a logical explanation, but I couldn't help noticing you said your brother in law is getting married to one of your best friends. Shouldn't he already be married to your sister 8O .........or shouldn't I ask!!!

Just read this post Noona - got your pm earlier and had just enough time to fix that up before dashing off again, and only now seeing this.

Poor you! Just as well you caught a fish though - at least something to show for it!

MNake the most of your enforced rest, sweetie
