Safe moving of Chemicals?

I have posted this on the Labbies FB group, but just in case there are folk here who are not on the FB Group, I will repeat the message here. Sorry if you get it twice

OK, Brains Trust. I need some information (again)

We are building a NEW SCIENCE/TECHNOLOGY/STEM CENTRE. (Good!) But to so so, they are demolishing the current Science buildings, including my Chemical Store and Physical Equipment Store. So... we need to relocate to demountable classrooms (on site) for a couple of years. My boss has asked me to find a REMOVALIST capable of safely moving lots of chemicals from one location to another location on site.

Can anyone suggest anyone who moves chemicals according to the DG legislation?

Cheers
Ian

Some of the companys that remove chemicals for waste, may be able to help you. Is the relocation close by or a car trip??

Hi Labbie,
The distance is only a couple of hundred metres. If they asked me to do it, I would probably use my large trolley with a number of plastic storage boxes to keep everything together. The school ute would be a possibility, but then they would have to be trolleyed to the ute anyway.

We used Chemsal at St Mary's foe chem waste removal several years ago, but I could not find them when I looked recently. Do you know who the preferred Chem Waste people are these days?

Thanks for your help
Ian

I think I would have to do it myself Ian . ....way easier than trying to organise someone else , plus , I'd know exactly where I had put everything .

Good luck with your move , sounds like you might end up with a fantastic new building .

We use Cleanway for our chem disposal here. I reckon if the boss is happy to pay for someone to do it, I'd be going with that. I think Simon packed up his own stuff here - took ages, he had to work a week (or maybe two) of the school holidays with some help, to get everything packed up.

No such lucky in the DoE schools, took me months and months to pack it all up, and store it, at the other end of the school. No help except the science staff, who on a period off, would help me.
