Solid sulphur

Post by Labtechie70 »

Hi everyone,

Hope your year is going well so far.
Does anyone know where we could get some chunks of solid sulphur?
Our teachers want some to do physical testing (hammering!) and also conductivity testing.
Thanks.

Pretty sure where every you get your rocks/minerals from will sell solid sulphur. I vaguely remember getting some a couple of years ago. Will see if I can trawl up the information. Sorry for being vague but I have just come back after a year off so still finding my groove.

My solid sulphur is Chem Supply Sulphur Roll.
It comes in a 1kg jar and contains 4 rolls about 12cm long and 3.5 wide.
These I have broken up into smaller chunks about 2cm square.
It cost $75 for the jar.
I bought the jar over 5 years ago and still have over 800gms left as rods.

Greater initial outlay but probably more cost effective in the long run
