Re: Making crystals from different solutions
Just a heads up cobalt chloride solid in teacher only according to RissAssess, and only the most dilute solutions are suitable for student use, therefore we no longer use it in crystal gardens. Suspected of causing cancer and infertility, not something I want for our students :w00t: , well maybe one...

I bought some chemicals from Silform, and found they were a lot lower grade, especially the magnesium ribbon, I probably wont buy from them again. MariaQ

Re: Updated CIS Package???
I agree Merilyn!, I rarely refer to it now, but I have a new part time lab tech and I thought before I show her the old one, Id see if there was a new one! We use Riskassess, Science Assist and any other more up to date info I can lay my hands on. CSIS does however give a good beginners guide to saf...

Re: School Uniforms
No lab coats here, students tuck their ties in and hair is tied back, but 99% sensible students. I do have disposable aprons for the larger dissections. We have never had a problem.

Re: Berlese/Tullgren funnel
Hi, I did a quick google and this came up, looks like just tripods with beakers and plastic filter funnels, maybe use microscope lamps if you still have them?? All equipment we already have? https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Berlese-Tullgren-funnel-for-micro-arthropods-extraction-It-contains-a-sam...

Re: Back Titration Ideas
Hi Guys,
Its where you cant titrate one substance directly against another, so you react A with B in excess and then titrate residual B against C and calculate the amount of A by working out how much of B was used in the first reaction! Hope that makes sense!

Re: Dropper bottle teats
Hi Bigmack, I agree when I got the teats they were a bit small for some tops and could easily be pulled out of the teat hole, so definitely not a universal size. And like yourself, over a few months have already found a number starting to perish, so in many ways would prefer to go back to the rubber...

Re: Safety Shower testing
