Re: Chair Damage
Thankfully it's stopped here finally Merilyn I'd say since we stopped handing out masks . Mind you , with the departments new rule that Teachers that are Covid positive can come to work if they want and a new Covid variant which is unaffected by the Vaccines sweeping through NSW , probably won't be ...

Re: pH Charts
It's a pleasure . Worth the time to make a resource if it can be shared.
I have taken from Chemtalk over the years so happy to give back what I can.

Re: How to post a picture on Chemtalk
OK, just discovered that the Attachment size has a limit of 500Mb . So you can scale pics bigger than 800 pixels if the pic doesn't have too much detail in it . Maybe up to 1200 pixels on the long side . But for the most part 800 pixels will cover most Pictures. This forum must have a file size limi...

Re: 3D Printing
Nice work MrsCooper . \:D/ wondering what 3D design program you are using ? I looked at Fusion 360 and my brain exploded so gave up . Then tried Google sketchup. That seemed really hard work and wasn't the right tool . Tried Tinkercad and although its a Kiddies program , it suits my ability :whistlin...

Re: pH Charts
Wow! They look great! We have the universal charts that come with the indicator. What will you use the other charts for? I don't know that I've ever needed to know the exact colour range of the other indicators like that. Thanks Rosalie , It's just something the Chem teacher has always asked about ...

Re: Banned from 1 NOV
I thought you were talking about trying to convince them that we could still use them in Science . That will be my problem . The email response you posted last week is the only written statement to actually suggest its OK , even then, it's a bit vague. Did you watch the online seminar about it? No ...

Re: Banned from 1 NOV
No, as in convincing them that we can't be using the remaining plastic bowls and plates at functions/parent info nights etc. (to be discarded after one use). I've just had a follow-up chat with the person higher up and the response this time was a lot less dismissive than the initial conversation l...

Re: Banned from 1 NOV
Has anyone had trouble convincing "higher up" that this is actually a thing and that schools are not exempt? Sorry not quite understanding your question Rosalie . By the looks of the highlighted text in your email , it looks like we are OK to keep using plastic things so long as we will w...

How to post a picture on Chemtalk
I noticed some are attaching word docs in an attempt to attach a picture , so I thought I'd do a quick tutorial . First off , there is a size limit to pictures . They must be no larger than 800 pixels on the longest side. You need to resize pics in windows "Paint" or other picture software...

Re: Calcium Fluoride
Don't feel bad about chatting to the teacher. We all make mistakes. Absolutely Merilyn , I must drive my teachers bonkers at times , but better they know ahead of time if there are issues . regarding the Calcium Fluoride , sometimes teachers deliberately ask for the impossible .In this case they ma...
