Re: Humane goldfish farewell
My son,who works part-time in a pet shop, told me our fish was swimming upside down because it had too much gas in it's belly. Don't know if thats true but the fish soon fixed itself up. I wonder if the peas are a remedy for this?

making solutions
Morning,
This is probably a really stupid question but... can you use tap water to make up solutions or does it have to be distilled water?
Thanks
Jodye

1,6 diaminohexane
Hi All,
I have 4 very old containers in our fridge of 1,6 diaminohexane that I need to get rid of but can't work out how to dispose of it.
I tried CSIS & MSDS & am still unsure of what to do. Could someone give me a little advice.
Thanks
Jodye

Great idea. I won't be able to make the meeting but would be willing to join the association when it is up & running. Would this help us make our jobs "real" instead of just support staff?

Hi All,
With the recent heatwave here in NSW ,I was wandering how many of you have airconditioners throughout your school?
I am on the P & C here at school & have been hounded by parents, students & even teachers about this,so any help would be appreciated.

We are the same...no lab coats & we have class sets of goggles. I get sick of supplying pens, pencils, glue & scissors !!! I don't think we should supply these things. I can't understand how the kids can show up without them.

Re: Frozen Rats
Hi Wayne,
I do the same thing as Voice. Defrost them overnight. I put a tray on top to cover them up in case we have any visitors ( mice or other living rats) during the night. I would hate to come in in the morning to find my rats half eaten!!

prep room being used as a kitchen
Morning everyone, I have a BIG problem with a teacher ( HOD ) using my prep room as a kitchen. he puts his lunch in the fridge & uses my sink to wash his coffee cups. What annoys me the most is him leaving his cups in the sink or on my bench!! : I started hiding all his cups but he still brings ...

I took a pluck, eyeballs ,hearts & kidney's out of the freezer last night for dissections this morning. No problem with any of it,
I know some of the teachers would prefer the eyes fresh, which is fine if they would do the prac when they order it, not 2 weeks later!!
