Re: Best M.W. information

If in doubt, make your own calculations using the molecular weight of the chemical. I have to rush off to a meeting now but I'm sure someone else can explain. Once you do this, you'll wonder why you ever had to look it up! Yes i know how to do this but even these are different on differen...

Re: Phenolphthalein Agar

i know this is a old old post but i have just came across a great idea of how to prepare the squares for the diffusion experiment.
K mart have silicone ice-cube molds that are perfect for the 3cm square cubes then students can cut another one down to get a 2cm square and 1cm square.

Re: Melting Phenolphthalein Agar

This is also a way that you can do the diffusion Agar 1. Measure out 1.6 g of agar-agar and 200 ml water. Mix them together with a whisk or fork in a large microwave-safe bowl. 2. Heat the solution in the microwave on high for 30 seconds. Remove to a heat-safe surface using a hot pad or oven mitts, ...

Re: Plastic dropper bottles

We use a mixture of both glass and plastic dropper bottles. The only chemical that is a must for me with the amber glass bottles is Silver Nitrate and Iodine Solutions. '
I have got my plastic bottles from both MTA and Westlab.

My question to that Kimmy is, has anyone been able to source the decanoic acid? I'm either having a bad senior moment or I am just useless, but none of my regular suppliers have this...   Mine is older stock but still fine to use. I think it came from either Chem Supply or Ser...
