Re: Open Day Ideas

Hi Merilyn,
If it's not too much trouble may I have a copy of your booklet too? I have decided our open day ideas are old and jaded... we need a change!

Re: GHS Labeling

Good morning, I have Risk Assess and Chemical Label Maker. Chem label has more detail but is good when you want to make your own label - but RA the preferred label maker for me. I would suggest go with RA as Philip Crisp has been involved in Chem Safety for many years and has researched what is lega...

Re: flame test in spray bottles??

When it comes to flame tests for juniors, I soak paddle pop sticks in saturated solutions of barium, copper, potassium, strontium and sodium chlorides. I find this is less mess. Works well for open days too.

Why is it that the powers-that-be feel that chemicals stop fuming for certain periods of the day? :banghead:

Re: Another GHS question...

It is refreshing to hear common sense Linotas but, we of the bottom rung order need to be wary. Superbug, I am with your thoughts of the RiskAssess labels and have mixed feelings about it all. Firstly, the print size can only be so small (it is 8 the minimal requirement?) and secondly, I have seen s...

We use LDPE disposable aprons. They come in 100/box $12. Quite frankly I got tired of washing aprons that had been used (put on) and not dirty, but who could tell because they were old and stained anyway....

My local Woolies always say that if I like I can buy aspro in several transactions in the one visit. They are happy to do it this way because of course they know I buy them for science. Maybe your Woolies will do this for you?
