Hi Krisha,
I work in private school in Collaroy and will be retiring beginning of next year. It will be a full time position. Any thoughts?I have not resigned yet so the position is not available to be advertise.

We do very similar prac. With new national curriculum, there are a lot of new pracs, but some totally unsuitable for yr 7-8.
Example Iodine with alcohol.
What's wrong with oldies but goodies

If its yr 8 I would talk to teacher. We always use safer (or at least recommended) chemicals. If anything goes wrong you would feel terrible.
Yr 10 is almost there, but nit yr8.
I would be very skeptical even using the iodine crystals, as it is also yr11-12chemical.

I have same Mardi, two A4 boxes from copy room and place them in my two prep rooms with brush and pan and big sign "BROKEN GLASS". I get large items as well, beakers or tall measuring cylinders

I went through chemwatch ffx and the label for 0.1M lead nitrate was exactly the same with the 3 warning pictograms, but does not have DG9.

that is was we were hoping for, but stainless steel "looks so much better". Yah, while is new. I have an old sink and its rusting due to kids dropping bits of metals in it.

Our cherubs are doing energy from food and were burning some cheerios and one of the kids let out a scream. Yes, there were maggots growing in the cheerios jar, ha ha . try telling them it is against the rules!!

I do not know about state schools. I work in private school and very first question put to me by inspector last week was :"Can I see your RA and MSDS" Also, where do you keep second copy. HOD said inspector was impressed how quickly I could put my hands on it. So I understand private schoo...
