Re: Changing flower colours
Hi
we use white carnations. They work really well, gets results within a few hours. we also split the stems up to 5 ways and put each bit in a test tube of food colouring.

Re: Acidified Aluminium Sulfate
Off the hook. Just showed the teacher what 199.926g of aluminium sulfate looks like and thats the amount for a 300mL solution that she wanted and she realised this probably can't be done. I live to fight another day YIPPEE.
Cheers

Acidified Aluminium Sulfate
I need to make 1M acidified aluminium sulfate. Okay the 1M solution is not a problem, What I nedd to know is do I acidify it with sulfuric acid. If so is it concentrated and how much for a 500mL solution. Thanks in anticipation.

CO2 cylinder
Hi Everyone Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I've just had delivered a new CO2 cylinder. I asked the delivery fella if I stored it flat or upright. He says flat. I just thought I'd check the MSDS as he wasn't very convincing with his answer. The MSDS says to store it upright. What does everyone el...

Sound waves
Hi
One of the teachers here wants to do a prac where two sound waves cross so cancel each other out, the noise fades in and out. Does that make sense? any ideas how I could set this up?

Re: DISHWASHER
Good Morning Thanks for the replies. Kiah that's great to know you're happy with that. The Architect told the school to order the $11,500 model which made the business office panic. I'm sure that one would be fantastic, its got a dryer that dries all the pipettes and burettes inside and out but that...

Re: Flame test kits
Hi
I'm probably way behind the times but was reading the old flame test posts and discovered Ocker is using the same method as me with the soft drink bottle. It really is great and there is very little mess afterwards. Does anyone else use strontium chloride, thats my fave.

Hi Everyone I've just had a guy come and collect the waste.
