I'm supposed to get 24 hours, but I put no time, because that's what it's been like lately.

Re: Cobalt chloride
One of our teachers used this the other day - to show transpiration in leaves. Soak filter paper in cobalt chloride solution and dry in air oven . Put in a plastic bag and seal around leaves of plant. Paper turns from pink to blue. TADA!!!

Re: Chemffx how slow?
I spoke to a nice lady called Anna who changed some of my settings and showed me a different way to print - so either or both worked and I still have my monitor in one piece as they are printing so much faster.

I'm trying to print out MSDS and it won't even load properly. I thought I'd leave it for a while and do some washing . came back and it hadn't loaded any further. I'm ready to throw my computer through the window.

Re: Dissection blocks
Thanks all. The polystyrene tray idea sounds like a goer, as you can pin out the rats and then chuck them, tray and all.I had been cleaning with disinfectant and hot soapy water; and remelted when they got chopped up. As Lyn says it stinks the place out, even with good ventilation.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: AVOIDING ACCIDENTS
There's always the OHS issue of kids spilling stuff on lab coats and not telling anyone. So the kid in the next class puts on the coat, and whatever was spilt on it has had time to soak through.
