Aprons or Lab coats

Hi all,
We need to get aprons or lab coats for our students and, as we have limited space for hanging up, I'm in favour of aprons. This leads to the question, should we buy cotton, poly cotton or rubber aprons??
What do y'all use?
Any thoughts gratefully accepted.
Cheers

Re: Length of Chemical Storage

I'm guessing that's not Australian; dated 2002, but we've never had those colour codes.
But, as you say Marg, a good place to start!

Re: Risk assessment on haz chem/DG

Seems a bit like re-inventing the wheel when we pay annual subscriptions to ChemWatch and RiskAssess for this very information?

So, heaps of notice, then!
We use indicator sticks for water testing these days; they're easy to use and accurate enough....from SBS.

Yes, they need to be ultra fresh....we do this and it works really well (not in the numbers you're talking, however!).

Not exactly what you were looking for, but this is one of the investigations we do using trypsin....works really well and it's dead simple.

Re: Clear PVA Glue

I buy solid PVA and make it up as needed - takes a while to dissolve but it works well.
The issue now, however, is the new warnings on Borax.......

Re: GHS Labels or send it back

I too have received chemicals with non-GHS labels, so I did a bit of a search.
Said chemicals are still allowed to be sold since they're in the supply chain.

Re: pH rate of reaction

Hi Marg,
We did this a couple of weeks ago using 6% H2O2 and pulped kiwi fruit (I never use liver!).
I made up solutions of known pH using the attached "recipe" and it worked a treat.
