Re: Update on MSD sheets
We had a audit done this term. They checked all the MSDS in Science and around the school. I help keep the other facultys going with a once a year Chemical check, and show them how to check on their MSDS. I was told, I had not put Liquid paper, down silly me, and a can of WD40 was also found. Good l...

Re: Shelf Life
Just to help your self, when we have a new chemical arrive, we do put the date on that chemical, 6/07 so I know it arrived at school in June 2007. With solutions, we have a label on the back of the bottle, and put the date in ink on the label, yes sometimes it gets wet, but it does not matter really...

Van De Graaf Generator
Hi folks,
We have a very old Van De Graaf Generator given to us, only last week. How would I clean it? So far I have used warm soapy water, and things are looking a little better. But the main silver dome, is awful. What would you suggest I use??
Can I use Silver cleaner?

Re: Universal indicator
Try adding a few drops of 0.05M Sodium Hydroxide untill the mixture returns to green. Some times it works fine, other times it will not return to green.
Good luck

Re: Risk Assessment Sheets

This can be done two ways, Put foil on top of flask, ans simmer the liquid for 30 Minutes on a lower heat on your Hot plate. We keep ours in a Paper Ream box, the strong cardboard boxes the paper arrives in. The A4 size fits all the bits put down in CSIS. Much cheaper then purchasing one. Remember to put a sign above the Spill's Kit So everyone can see where it lives. We have had ours for about 4 years now, as they never ...
