Re: UV lights

Hi All,

This UV light will give off the correct wavelength required, and will have no lassting effects with exposure to it. Although I do recommend glasses if you are being exposed to it for lengthly periods (period after period). But safe in any other case.

Cheers,

Robb.

Re: red phosphorous

Hi All, red phosphorus will absorb water from the atmosphere, (Hydroscopic), and this will settle on top of the phosphorus giving it a wet layer. Over time this may dry but if the container is well sealed the opening it will not yield anything else but a bottle filled with phosphorus and a little wa...

Hi All,

An EUD will be required, chem suppliers will request something in writing and this should not be a problem. Just ask what they require you to answer and be straight forward.

Hi All, I hae completely forgot to tell you... So sorry. My private message to rainbowsky should have been that the end point for Screened Methyl Orange is Steel grey... (Faint Steel grey). This is the correct endpoint for the solution. It is a considerable change to what Methyl orange has. But for ...

Re: elemental mercury

Hi All, If for whatever reason Mercury needs to be left out in a small dish, simply pour a layer of water over it and it can then be safely left. When Merc then needs to be used pour off the water into a hazardous waste disposal bottle and use a tissue then to simply dry off the remainder of the wat...

Hi All,

I appologise for my performance yesturday in answering the questions regarding r in my equations. Rho, rho has the symbol p.

I must have been on another planet or something.

Re: velocity v=s/d what's the s stand for?

Hi Ian, Indeed the r as mentioned in the linear equation is radius, the letter used in my representation is not rho as this is has the symbol (p). Thanks for the eagle eye my friend.... Don't know why I said that initially.. The new syllabus is just highly questionable. Cheers mate, Robb..... Hi Al...

Re: velocity v=s/d what's the s stand for?

Hi All,

Almost forgot...

The r in the equation in the syllabus comes fro the good old term for the following equation where 2 (pi) r/T this is Linear Velocity much more accurate than just v= s/t.

Hence why r starts to come into the picture. Oh and it this is called radius...
