Hi All,
Tried sending this question yesterday, but it hasn't appeared yet so......try again.
How do others decant limewater without disturbing the sediment? We don't use much limewater anymore (prefer Thymol or Bromothymol blue).
Any suggestions?
Thanks everyone,
Elizabeth

Hi All, Welcome back to another year! My big question about storage is - how does one segregate within a corrosives cabinet. When we renovated our labs a couple of years ago, we bought quite large cabinets (corrosive an flammable) and the architect assured me they complied with all regulations. Ofte...

Hi Julia, Why not just ring Chemwatch directly. All the state education departments will have a different way of using Chemwatch (if indeed they do) so NSW info will be of little use to you. I pay for the Chemwatch CDs annually, but I'm not sure if all schools can do this. Contact Chemwatch at 70 Ba...

Hi Jilly, I am doing a major school-wide stocktake as we speak (we have an audit next week). This means updating the manifest and reprinting ALL the MSD Sheets for the school's Central Chemical Register. I've done this countless timesd and still find the old Chemwatch CD system is the best way to go...

Hi All, I've just received a fax from a company called CHEMSAL, a chemical disposal company based in Sydney. I have used them before for disposal of old/discarded/degraded chemicals and for contents of our waste bottles which build up over a couple of years. They will be in our area (New England/Nor...

Hi all, Carol, I was given the same advice re: Risk Assessments - following the DTERA Protocol obviated the need for a seperate RA and if you are using the Core Science texts then the RAs are taken as read. Senior pracs almost always require RAs because they'rew sourced more widely. I also have the ...

Hi All, I've always been told by people in the know (union, legal types etc) that writing a job description is not a great idea. If you were employed without such a document existing, then you don't need one. On the matter of Chemical Stocktakes, I have no real answer. I guess it depends on the size...

Ditto, Coxy. I just order a new bottle of Br water each year (if I remember!). I reckon the whole vial-under-the-water is just too dicey in a school situation. If teacers don't like it..........tuff. There is a recipe for a Bromine water substitute to use in the alkane/alkene prac; I'll see if I can...

Dry Ice Maker
Hi.
I'd like to buy a dry ice making assembly (hoses, box etc.). I have the CO2 cylinder. Does anyone know of suppliers, cost etc. I have sent out some enquiries to various companies after a (very short) web search, but so far no replies. Any ideas?
Elizabeth.
