Cyclohexene and Cyclohexane

Hi all, it has been a while since I have posted anything on the site but I always check in to read what's going on with you all.
This time I have a question and that is; How do you dispose of Cyclohexene and Cyclohexane safely?
Thanks

Re: New National curriculum - year 11/12

At the beginning of this school year we had 8 students doing Senior Science, this has now dropped to 3!!!! So I can understand why it is being dumped. This course has been on the slippery slide for some years now, at this College anyway. Can't speak for other schools though.

Re: Do you give your opinion?

Hi Dime When you go to see the boss make sure you take a colleague with you for support as these type of meetings can be stressful and you may misinterpret some things that are said. The other person just listens in and has no input but is there to make sure you get a fair hearing so no onus is on th...

National Curriculum

Just wanted you all to know about the new National Curriculum that is being implemented in 2011. Your thoughts about this would be welco...

Re: When you don't want to throw it away.....

A few years ago I gave away quite a few microscopes to a science teacher from my school who was opening a school in Africa's poor remote area. She was associated with the Anglican Church. So maybe you could get in touch with them or other churches in your area. Hope this give you a start anyway. Cheer...

Re: Manganese dioxide and hydrogen peroxide prac

Hello Rita I,like the other chemtalkers say that 3% is the way to go.However when you mix hydrogen peroxide with manganese dioxide the reaction does create a lot of heat, it can get very hot!!! and bubbles up.
