Re: Spot of Gardening
Richard, Great Frogs. Is it an easy process to put photos on the site? I haven't even tried, I'm still getting the hang of my camera!!! Your veggie plots are also looking fantastic. It's amazing the difference rain makes. By the way, I've never doubted you do actually work, what I can't understand i...

Love your work, Smiley!!! But you are spot on. I'm going to have a similar mishap with a microwave in the very near future. Creativity, I think, should be on the job description!!!

Rainbow-Sky,
At least if you singe your hair, you know where to get some goregous new curls!!! See Richards' other offer.
Still, I like what you're saying, at least it would get rid of all the paperwork!! Now, where is that Sodium Metal......

Lisa

Re: Spot of Gardening
I'd take you up on that, Richard, if I thought I could get away with coming to work resembling Bob Marley!! The students might think I was "cool", but I don't think it would go down very well. Tell me, what do you do with the veggies? Are they planted as an experiment, or are they used for...

Love that look!!!! Do you know us girls pay big dollars at the hairdressers to get curls like that! I just love him, you can tell by his face he has a lot of personality under that hair. You are very lucky Richard, to have such an interesting work colleague. I bet he's more fun than most of the teac...

Re: Spot of Gardening
Great stuff Richard! Do the kids look after it all, or do you end up doing most of it? Has Brian ever got loose, and helped himself? It would be a very tempting sight for a hungry goat!! By the way, I've never seen goat helmets for sale, but the rattle might serve as a warning to those about to be b...

Re: Spot of Gardening
Hi Richard, Strangely enough, I'd kill to come and weed your garden, I love gardening. Your making my veggie patch(at home) look very sad though. Adelaide recently had a heatwave that fried everything, including my poor veggies. Your patch looks beautiful. What exactly have you got in there? P.S. I'...

Re: slime borax
Hi Sassi, You probably know this, but I'm mentioning it because I have made this mistake before. Borax is also known as Sodium Tetraborate. I've spent a lot of time looking for things that are known by more than one name, and even if you know them, sometimes it doesn't twig. I can't help with an alt...

Re: Pepsin & egg white suspension practical
Hi Fran,
It sounds like you were in the right place, but maybe didn't scroll right down. There was more than one experiment in that attachment. Never mind, I see someone else has helped you out, so it's all good.
Cheers,
Lisa

Re: Pepsin & egg white suspension practical
Hi Fran, The experiment, and other info are in a forum titled "Saliva Experiments". You will find it under Chemistry and Labware General on Page 2. Rather than trying to remember where you saw it, you might find the "search" helpful in these instances. Just type in a key word tha...

Teresa, In South Australia, we have a system that I think used to be used interstate, where the Dept. of Education sends out a Chemwatch c.d every year, and the school loads it on the computer. It's not brilliant, but it serves the purpose. I have tried to access Chemgold since reading about it on t...

Richard, They sound like heaps of fun to keep. You got me all enthused last year, but I've changed schools, so it's back to the drawing board. Fortuneately, my new school has a big, empty aquarium sitting there, just crying out for something interesting to be put in it!!! I might look into it over t...

If you're not into using chemicals unless you have to, there are these sponges available. They are called "Amazing Eraser" or something like that.(there's a few different brands available)They are sold at any supermarket. They are great for any texta/graffitti/lead pencil etc removal, and ...

Smiley, You defineately wouldn't move south this week. We in South Oz have just enjoyed our ninth consecutive day over thirty five degrees, and it's set to continue(around thirty eight or higher) for at least another week. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw rain. Wouldn't it be nice to swap for...

Re: having a very bad day.
Mushroom, Richard is absolutely right-on. The teachers' know weeks in advance what they're doing, and they have no right to place you in an unsafe predicament, with on-the-spot requests. But, as you said, you can be your own worst enemy by trying to be helpful. I suppose we all tend to do that a bit...
