Geiger Counter - ASSISTANCE

Hi labbettes ... our physics teacher advised me that when he has the counter on with the radiation source - the Geiger counter is not counting linearly. Every time the speaker goes 'tick' it it counting / jumping in varying amounts as opposed to by ones ... Any suggestions / reasons ... All replies ...

Lorikeet, do you have a location on there? I really like the idea but wasn't sure if you needed to have locations in the manifest too. We did ours last year - we got rid of heaps some had solidified - decrepit containers - tainted stock - banned in schools ... we did keep items furthest back to 1995 - as it was ok and yes not necessary to have pristine for school science ... Good Luck massive job ...

Hey Nicole ... I just left button click the mouse and drag items they have ordered up to the title of the prac ... Once highlighted then right button click and print ... This give me a list to tick off and goes in the tub for in case they think they ordered something and they can double check the li...

I used this excel list from ASSIST website https://assist.asta.edu.au/sites/assist.asta.edu.au/files/ListOfRecommendedChemicals-18-Mar-2016.xlsx kept a main copy of it but then have my manifest which I copied all the chemcial lines from the list into ... any that werent on there I used the SDS to bu...

I recently had to complete a whole NEW manifest of the chemicals we had as well as source all their SDS's - thankfully 60% of ours were Chemsupply - but you really SHOULD HAVE the SDS relavent to the brand you have purchased or as mentioned discard of 157 chemicals I have 5 ... Aqua Sand. Lime Water...

Risk Assess - all the way ... when i started here it was a manual order slip pinned on a board for the day and period ... I have many cheat sheets and notes I have done up you are welcome to ... and even if you want to pop over and check ours out - we have just hit a year and teachers now reaping re...

I have seen Post-it dry erase surface so you can recoat existing boards .. 1800 x 1200 is on clearance with office max for $135 ATM ... I have to look at one of ours which is very scratched and not recoverable

I confirmed with safework - one at the main prep room and front office and I have mine hyperlinked on the chemical manifest and on main school drive so everyone has access and of course IT have locked the file so no one can go and delete all my sds's ... one step ahead... K8

You can mix vitamin C (Ascobic ACid) you keep adding till it is murky brown - it is now Manganese Dioxide which is ok for waste disposal ... ;)

We have some old burnt out ones ... I was wondering how to make my own ...
I do have some glass to use but not capillary glass ??
Do you have to use nichrome wire ??

Ok Ladies - I have chemicals from "Government Department Stores" and can not locate SDS ... Does anyone have a link - by chance ?? If you can not locate an SDS for the specific brand you have we are required to dispose and replace chemical ?? Can we write our own SDS ?? Any information app...
